The Dangers Of Chemical In Food
Currently on the market there are still many additional hazardous food ingredients on a number of processed food products home industries and small industries. It happened because of lack of insight of entrepreneurs against food safety (food safety).
Many examples of violations have occurred in the field, as a form of ignorance of the hidden danger risks behind the action. For example there is a salted fish trader who sprayed an insecticide (mosquito) to salted fish in his wares with the aim that his wares will not be caught by flies. Finally, the toxic substance is still attached to the mosquito fish.
Practitioners at the Center for Drug and Food Control (BPOM) have several times found products such as syrup, noodles, tofu, meatballs containing chemicals that are harmful to human health, such as: harmful preservatives (benzoic, formalin, etc.), harmful pengenyal (Borax, etc.), harmful dyes (Rhodamin-B, Methanyl Yellow, etc.), artificial sweeteners (aspartame, sorbitol, etc.) and other additives with excessive doses.
In plain view it is rather difficult to determine whether the processed food products found contain harmful chemicals or not. Especially when the dose is very small. However, if the dose is enough, then we can know it from the appearance that looks real (visual appearance).
The legal basis of prohibition:
To maintain human health, then there are some government regulations that regulate this, such as:
1. Food Law no. 8 of 1999, on Consumer Protection.
2. Regulation of the Minister of Health (Permenkes) RI No. 208 / Menkes / Per / IV / 85, about Artificial Sweeteners. Artificial sweetener is only used for diabetics (sick sugar and patients who require low-calorie diet, namely: aspartame, Na saccharin, Na siklamat, and sorbitol.
3. Government Regulation no. 72 Year 1998, concerning Safety of Pharmaceutical Preparation and Medical Device),
4. Government Regulation no. 69 of 1999 on Food Label and Advertisement.
Various kinds of hazardous chemicals:
hemicals used as food items that are categorized as dangerous include the following:
1. Dangerous Preservatives
Usually there are: Formalin, Benzoat (if too much), etc.
2.Dangerous Dyes
Usually present in the form of: Rhodamin-B red dye, Yellow yellow Methanyl color, etc.
3. Artificial Sweetener (excessive)
Usually present in the form: Sodium (sodium) - Saccharine (saccharin), Na-Cycla-mate (cyclamate), aspartame, sorbitol, etc.
4. Pengenyal (Meatballs) Dangerous
Usually in the form of: Borax, etc.
Negative impact on human health:
There are many negative (impact) effects of abuse (contamination) of hazardous chemicals used as food additives. Among the negative effects that often arise are:
1. Poisoning, from mild symptoms to fatal effects (death).
2. Cancer, such as cancer of the cervix, lungs, breast, prostate, brain, etc.
3. Seizures, from tremor to severe.
4. Failure of blood circulation (impaired function of heart, brain, reproduction, endocrine).
5. Other symptoms, such as: vomiting, slimy diarrhea, depression, neurological disorders, etc.
6. Severe disorders, such as: blood urine, vomiting blood, convulsions, etc.
